In today's world, the sacred and supernal have been downgraded to the mundane. Sacred things are now treated as common and trivial just like in the time of Daniel when King Belshazzar allowed his rulers, wives, and concubines drink from sacred goblets of God's Holy Temple, defiling holy things (Daniel 5:2-3).

THE WORLD'S LEADERSHIP IS ACTING LIKE KING BELSHAZZAR OF BABYLON WHO DESECRATED GOD'S HOLY TEMPLE!

 

Today, God considered every human body as His Temple. The various parts and organs of the human body are the goblets, vessels, and furniture of God's Temple. The RH Bill and contraceptive methods of men also desecrate God's Temple and its holy vessels.

Daniel tells us, especially the leaders of society, how great is the sin of defiling God's Temple, which is now the body of every human being (Dan 5:2-3). 

To show the greatness of this sin, Daniel pointed to the great contrast between the Technological and Scientific gods formed of dead material versus the LIVING CREATOR GOD in Heaven, on whom depend the life and fortune of men. 

Belshazzar praised the non-living materials, but he had not honored the great Creator God! To punish King Belshazzar for this wickedness, God sent the hand which wrote the mysterious words (Dan 5:24, Dan 5:5).

• Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.  (Dan 5:1 MKJV)

• When tasting the wine, BELSHAZZAR COMMANDED TO BRING THE GOLDEN AND SILVER VESSELS WHICH HIS FATHER NEBUCHADNEZZAR HAD TAKEN OUT OF THE TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM, THAT THE KING AND HIS RULERS, HIS WIVES AND HIS CONCUBINES, MIGHT DRINK FROM THEM.  (Dan 5:2 MKJV)

• Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God in Jerusalem. And the king, and his rulers, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.  (Dan 5:3 MKJV)

• They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.  (Dan 5:4 MKJV)

• At that moment fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace across from the lampstand. And the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.  (Dan 5:5 MKJV)

• Then the king's face was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosened, and his knees knocked against one another.  (Dan 5:6 MKJV)

• Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, and his face was changing in him, and his lords were perplexed.  (Dan 5:9 MKJV)

• Then Daniel answered and said before the king... I will read the writing to the king, and make the meaning known to him.  (Dan 5:17 MKJV)

• O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor.  (Dan 5:18 MKJV)

• And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. He killed whom he would, and whom he would he kept alive. And whom he would, he set up; and whom he would, he put down.  (Dan 5:19 MKJV)

• But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his glory from him.  (Dan 5:20 MKJV)

• And he was driven from the sons of men. And his heart was made like the animals, and his dwelling was with the wild asses. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens, until he knew that THE MOST HIGH GOD RULES IN THE KINGDOM OF MEN, and that HE APPOINTS OVER IT WHOMEVER HE WILL.  (Dan 5:21 MKJV)

• And you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this.  (Dan 5:22 MKJV)

• You have lifted up yourself against the Lord of Heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you; and you, and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver, and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know. You have not glorified the God in whose hand is your breath and all your ways.  (Dan 5:23 MKJV)

DANIEL'S DEADLY INTERPRETATION OF THE MYSTERIOUS HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

Immediately, a hand from somewhere appeared and wrote on the wall of the royal palace the following secret words "MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN." Daniel interpreted the mysterious words.

• This is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.  (Dan 5:25 KJV)

• MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.  (Dan 5:26 KJV)

• TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.  (Dan 5:27 KJV)

• PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.  (Dan 5:28 KJV)

• In that night BELSHAZZAR THE KING OF THE CHALDEANS WAS KILLED.  (Dan 5:30 MKJV)

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN BELSHAZZAR'S DESECRATION OF THE TEMPLE'S HOLY VESSELS AND THE DESECRATION OF THE HOLY VESSELS OF THE HUMAN BODY BY REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

King Belshazzar of Babylon takes the sacred golden and silver vessels from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Using these holy items, the King and his cabinet praise 'the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone,' instead of glorifying the Great Creator God. King Belshazzar was then killed and removed from leadership.

Similarly, the Reproductive Health (RH) methods of today, endorsed and sponsored by the most influential and rich men of the world, are taking the sacred sexual organs of the human body (a Temple of God), and are using them for the sensual and material purposes of men. What God have done to King Belshazzar, He will also do to these ungrateful and rebel leaders of society!

Matthew Henry Concise Commentary says:

Daniel reads Belshazzar's doom. He had not taken warning by the judgments upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he had insulted God. Sinners are pleased with gods that neither see, nor hear, nor know; but they will be judged by One to whom all things are open. Daniel reads the sentence written on the wall. All this may well be applied to the doom of every sinner. At death, the sinner's days are numbered and finished; after death is the judgment, when he will be weighed in the balance, and found wanting; and after judgment the sinner will be cut asunder, and given as a prey to the devil and his angels. Soon will every impenitent sinner find the writing of God's word brought to pass upon him, whether he is weighed in the balance of the law as a self-righteous Pharisee, or in that of the gospel as a painted hypocrite. -- MHCC
