WHY DIVORCE? SHOULD YOU DIVORCE YOUR SPOUSE? Think Many Times Before You Do, Because There is Only One Valid Reason for Divorce, According to Jesus Christ!

The World and its many Nations are allowing Divorce among their citizenry. The Churches also allow, even encourages Divorce and Legal Separation between Husbands and Wives in their Church Ministry and Membership. Thus, man-made Laws and Church doctrines allow Divorce and other similar legalities that allow separation between Husbands and Wives: Legal Separation, Marriage Annulment, etc. A popular Christian leader even endorsed Divorce just because of Alzheimer disease. But, Christ said that whoever divorces his/her espouse except for the only one valid reason commits the serious sin of Adultery. What is that only VALID REASON for DIVORCE allowed by God?

WHAT IS GOD'S ORIGINAL DESIGN AND PURPOSE OF MARRIAGE?

God's original design of Marriage is for: THE TWO (2) BECOMING ONE (1). And the main purpose and application of this Marriage design is the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Bride-Wife (Ephesians 5:31-32).

• For this cause shall a Man leave his Father and Mother, and shall be joined unto his Wife, and THEY TWO SHALL BE ONE FLESH. This is A GREAT MYSTERY: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church.  (Eph 5:31-32 KJV)

Matthew 19:8 shows us how Christ is trying to direct us to the original design and purpose of marriage "from the beginning," as designed and created by God.

• He told them, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts. But IT WAS NOT LIKE THAT FROM THE BEGINNING. (Mat 19:8)

MARRIAGE MUST BE MAINTAINED IN THE PURE STATE OF FAITHFULNESS!

This Great Principle and Purpose of Marriage can be defeated by the impurities of Sexual Lust and Unfaithfulness leading to SEXUAL IMMORALITY and ADULTERY. GOD IS PURE, and only the PURE can have that pure Marriage relationship with Jesus Christ. Only the PURE is able to stand in the Divine Presence of God the Father and Jesus Christ (Psalms 24:3-4).

• Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not set his mind on what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. (Psa 24:3-4)

Our ultimate relationship to God or Jesus Christ is the Marriage relationship (Ephesians 5:31-32). So God's  original design and purpose of Marriage, both on the Physical Level and Spiritual Level is PURITY. Any impurity injected to Marital Purity makes the Marriage impure; thereby defeating the very purpose of Marriage. Adultery and Sexual Immorality make the Marriage Relationship impure. Therefore, the result of these marriage corruption is DIVORCE or separation.

THERE IS NO NEED OF DIVORCE FOR COUPLES WHO REACHED A HIGH MORAL STATE VIA THE GREAT MYSTERY OF MARRIAGE
 
Because of the people's LOW MORAL STATE, causing the "hardness of their hearts" or the inability to endure the strictness of the original Design and Law of Marriage, Divorce was permitted by Moses. This is a temporary permission or a relaxation of the strictness and permanency of the Marriage Bond - not as approving of it, but to prevent still greater evils. 

But there is no need of divorces, if husbands love their wives, and wives be obedient and submissive to their own husbands. And this can be achieved only by applying the original and main Eternal Marriage principle that are found in the Great Mystery of Marriage, that is, that the TWO (2) BECOMING ONE (1). This is the only proper and lasting True Marriage Relationship => The Marriage Relationship between Christ and His Church-Bride that will last forever and ever (Ephesians 5:31-32).

THERE IS ONLY ONE VALID REASON FOR DIVORCE ALLOWED BY GOD! WHAT IS IT?

• Some Pharisees approached Christ to test Him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?" (Mat 19:3)

• Christ replied, "haven't you read, that He who created them in the beginning made them male and female, and for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? (Mat 19:4-5)

• So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, man must not separate. (Mat 19:6)

• "Why then," they asked Him, "did Moses command us to give divorce papers and to send her away?" (Mat 19:7-8) 

• He told them, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts. But it was not like that from the beginning. (Mat 19:8)

The Failure of Mankind to maintain their Sexual Purity downgraded their Morality to a lower state causing their Hearts to be hardened. Thus, because of the hardness of Men's heart, Moses allowed Divorce then (Deuteronomy 24:1). 

• When a man takes a wife, and marries her, then it shall be, if she find no favor in his eyes, because he has found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorce, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.  (Deu 24:1 HNV)

But, according to God's original design, there is only one valid justification for a divorce -- IMPURITY IN MARRIAGE. This impurity can be caused by SEXUAL IMMORALITY and ADULTERY (After Marriage). Other than impurity in Marriage, Divorce is not allowed (Matthew 19:9).

• I tell you, Whoever Divorces his Wife, EXCEPT FOR SEXUAL IMMORALITY, and Marries Another, COMMITS ADULTERY. (Mat 19:9)

PEOPLE AND CHURCHES ARE TEACHING FALSE DOCTRINES BECAUSE OF THEIR IGNORANCE OF THE GREAT MYSTERY OF MARRIAGE! THEIR IGNORANCE WILL DESTROY THEM!

If the World does not know Marriage, then surely God's True Church or Churches must know. This should be the case. But sad to say, even God's True Church/es show that they also failed miserably in the understanding and application of the True Biblical Principles of Marriage. 

Thus, the many Churches in the world are also suffering the many CURSES of Sex, Marital, and Family problems. Now, Churches that recognize and officiate Same-Sex 'Marriages' are increasing in the list! And, with the Global IGNORANCE of Great Mystery of Marriage, many popular Religious Leaders are even endorsing Divorce.

Raphael Chijioke Obiduba Sometimes it baffles me how people mixes spiritual things with mundane things. Biblical reference to marriage is for the purposes of teaching about our relationship with God. And nothing to do with physical, canal and mundane thing, borne out convention. If Jesus and the rest of the apostles did not marry, or no indication of it in the scriptures; except the wedding, where the purpoted first miracle of conversion of water into wine took place. Why do we always put high premium into carnality.
Most spiritual masters down the ages never married.

For me the issues of divorce and physical marriage is not on the religious dormain, but on Sociology. We should place issues were they belong. Of recent from my part of the world, husband's and wife's have been killing each other because of frustrations derived from incompatibility in marriage partners. To divorce and to commit murder which one is more grievous?  1
