The ALMIGHTY GOD, CREATOR OF THE DIVINE MARRIAGE INSTITUTION, Accepted Lope Columna's 20-Year Marriage Sacrifice/Initiation To Be The Case Study And Medium By Which His End-Time Revelation of The Great Mystery of Marriage To Mankind Came To Light.

NOTE: These series of articles about God's revelations of His Kingdom's Great Mysteries use some segments of the real-life story of Mr. Lope Columna as Case Studies to explain or show how these supernal Great Mysteries of the Kingdom of God were revealed to Mankind in the End-Time Generation. 3. The MYSTERY OF GOD THE FATHER'S WILL (Ephesians 1:9).

When combined, these three (3) Great Mysteries of the Bible, or of the Kingdom of Heaven, is called the COUNSEL OF GOD (Isaiah 46:11), which is the TRUE RELIGION OF JESUS CHRIST. The MAIN CASE STUDY FOR THE GREAT MYSTERY OF MARRIAGE

Whether people believe it or not, I have to tell and put in writing my Marriage Experience, as I'm inspired by God to do this. This is because out of this Dark Marriage Experience the Light of Christ's Great Mystery of Marriage came out to give the True Knowledge of Godly Marriage (2Cor 4:6).

So, for the Glory of God, and the benefit of everyone, I am offering my 20 years of marital experience to be the main case study (or as a sacrifice) to help us all in the full understanding of this Great Mystery of Marriage (GMOM) revealed only now by the merciful God in Heaven. These 20 years of actual "hands-on" marriage experience (or initiation), combined with years of personal prayers (sometimes with tears) to God the Father, in-depth Bible Study, and God's personal guidance, resulted in the revelation of this MEGA (Great) Mystery of Marriage.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MYSTERY?

We commonly use the word mystery to denote that which is above our comprehension, or something supernatural, or unintelligible. But this is never the meaning of the word in the New Testament. It means that there are some doctrine, truth, or fact which has been concealed, or which has not been fully revealed, or which has been set forth only by figures and symbols. When the Mystery is made known, it may be as clear and plain as any other.

From Albert Barnes' Commentary: 

The word "MYSTERY" (from the Greek, musterion) means literally something into which one must be "initiated" before it is fully known (to initiate, to instruct).

... "a mystery -- a concealed truth" -- though when it was revealed, there was nothing incomprehensible in it. ... there was a veil thrown, and people did not understand them until God revealed them. When they were revealed, the mystery was removed, and men were able to see clearly the manifestation of the will of God. -- BARNES

The 20 YEARS OF MARRIAGE MYSTERY INITIATION

This great mystery can only be known by someone who is literally initiated into this mystery. This initiation is composed of several steps, stages, or processes. These include sincere desire for wisdom and understanding, commitment to obey God no matter what (without compromise), in-depth Bible study, heartfelt prayers, willingness and sacrifice to suffer pain and sorrow, negligence of what other people may say, etc. God had put me in this initiation for 20 years. After this, God forcefully inspired me to put in writing my life experiences, the lessons, and revelations I received from Him through those 20 years of unique exposures, fiery trials, and in-depth studies in my life.

REMEMBERING GOD IN THE DAYS OF YOUTH

I grew up as an adventurous young boy in Masbate City, the Philippines. The poor family that I was raised up also ended in a family breakup. In this early age, I already became a victim of this mysterious enemy.

On the year 1972, when I was a 3rd year high school student (a teenager), my outlook in life was dramatically changed by the Plain Truth Magazine and other literature of Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God (WCG). By studying the Bible in that early age, I felt so close to God Almighty that I asked Him for wisdom and understanding, as I was inspired by the story of King Solomon. From that time on, I promised to God and myself that my number one goal in life is to obey God's laws and commandments, and to serve Him. All other personal desires and ambitions will be just secondary, or in support of that promised number one goal in life.

With regard to marriage and family, I desire to have a godly wife and family. In other words, it becomes my dream and determination to really apply God's laws and principles about marriage and family. I preserved my manhood and virginity for the future wife that God will give me. Of course, there were lots of temptation as years went by. But with the help and power of God Almighty, I was able to overcome all those immorality, pornography, and lustful attraction to beautiful women that came on my way.

ANOTHER GARDEN WEDDING 

On July 9, 1978, I became a baptized member of the Worldwide Church of God (WCG). It was the teaching of the Church to marry someone who is also a baptized member of the Church. I expected then that women in the Church would surely be good wives for their husbands. It was supposed that the WCG knows and is applying the true principles of godly marriage and family, as codified in the Bible. Many booklets, articles, sermons, and sermonettes about marriage were published and delivered by the WCG. 

So, I searched for a wife inside the Church, and had chosen my first wife. Our garden wedding on February 14, 1982, was officiated by our local pastor, and was attended by top Philippine ministers, many friends, and church members.

I expected to have a happy marriage as I am determined to apply God's laws on marriage. But to my surprise and amazement, my first wife continually disagrees and rebels against my authority as the God-ordained head of the family.

We went to the ministry for marriage counseling. To my additional surprise, the Church Ministry failed to give lasting solution to our marital problems. Actually, we don't receive real solutions, but instead we were blamed and lambasted for the problems! It came to the point that the Ministry already threatened us with suspension or disfellowshipment from the Church! The Ministry is continuously blaming us for our troubles, especially me, the Husband! 

I was confused then, because as I study God's Bible, I know, from my heart, that I am just obeying the God's Scriptures pertaining to marriage, especially with my role as the husband. But the Church Ministry continues to give counsels that are contrary to the Bible teachings! 

My first marriage that started in 1982, was a disaster from the very beginning and finally ended after 20 years. For those in the Church, both the Ministry and Membership, our problematic marriage relationship had also become a mystery! My first wife and I were counseled by so many ministers for so many times from the very first year to the 20th year of our troublesome marriage!

It was so amazing to me that all of those years of marriage counseling, sermons, articles, and even prayers; all of these only resulted in the final dissolution of our marriage and family. My first marriage also became a great mystery to me! 

Many other WCG couples and families suffered similar tragedy in the past. Recently, several other marriages in the Church and in other Churches are in the verge of collapse! What's happening, and what does the Church doing?

This marriage curse victimized both the Church membership and the Ministry alike. Top evangelists and Ministers fell victim to these marriage failures! Even HWA was not spared -- his 2nd marriage with Ramona ended in divorce!

These many years of marital troubles and experience has also generated so many questions in my mind that need to be satisfactorily answered. I expected to received the right answers from the true Church, but she was not able to give satisfactory answers from the Bible! If God's own Church does not know the answers what can we expect from the world?

This led me to have a personal in-depth study of the subject of marriage, on my own efforts. The only right way to go is first to consult the "OEM" or the "Original Equipment Manufacturer" of the mysterious Marriage Invention -- the Creator God. God, the OEM of marriage, have also His marriage manual, we call the Holy Bible.
