SEXUAL TEMPTATION BEGINS IN YOUR EYES!

The Eyes are the portals of sexual Lusts and Adultery. Similar to the fire that is ignited by a small spark, fiery sexual desires are ignited by small thoughts and imagery brought to open in the minds of people. The entry point of this dangerous "ignitor" thoughts and images are the eyes. Like a hi-tech camera, our eyes captures and records everything that they see (good and bad, and whether we like it or not). The super-computer that registers and records all these captured pictures and images is our mind!

The secret of overcoming sexual lusts should begin in our eyes. We should not allow our eyes to be like "tourists." A tourist is someone who looks at everything and everywhere. But your eyes were made not to be "tourists." The views, pictures, and images that our eyes should feast upon must be properly selected. There are things and pictures that we should avoid to enter our minds via the eyes.

TODAY'S ADULTEROUS CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGIES ARE GREAT CHALLENGES FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD!

The world today is full of God-forbidden views, pictures, and images. And as the world goes hi-tech, so are these "sin ignitors." They become more advanced and more realistic as they enter the world of multimedia and digital technologies, especially the Internet! Thus, they become more commonplace, more available, more subtle, more impressive, more interesting, more tempting! All these advanced technologies present a tremendous attraction to our eyes. And if you are not careful with your eyes, you are an easy victim of the seducer!

YOU ARE ALLOWED ONLY 2 SECONDS TO LOOK!

On the average, if you cannot avoid looking at prohibited views, you are given only 2 seconds to look at them. Then you must immediately remove your eyes from that forbidden picture or image! If you focus on that prohibited image for more than 2 seconds, that means you are already hooked by the temptation!

Thus, when you are walking along a street, and you chance to meet a beautiful sexy woman, from which you cannot avoid looking at her, you must just gaze at that woman for only 2 seconds and no more.This 2-seconds limit is more  applicable if you happen to have an eye-to-eye contact with a "stranger" or a beautiful, sexy woman you do not know (Proverbs 6:25).

• DON'T... LET HER CAPTIVATE YOU WITH HER EYELIDS. (Pro 6:25 HNV)

If you gaze at her more than 2 seconds, and especially, if you even turn your head when she is already past your way; then that means you gave in to temptation! That means that immoral thoughts and images are now imprinted in your mind, and these will disturb and defile you, and lead you to immoral acts!

And the Zohar reveals that when a person focus his eyes on prohibited views and pictures (particularly that of a lustful look at sexy women), the energy of Holiness that is in that person leaks out of the eyes! So, the Bible clearly instruct us to focus our eyes right straight on, not turning to the right or left where there is a sexy woman (Proverbs 4:25, 27).

• Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you.  (Pro 4:25 MKJV)

• Do not turn to the right hand nor to the left; remove your foot from evil.  (Pro 4:27 MKJV)

A WOMAN CAN BE BEAUTIFUL; BUT SHE SHOULD NOT APPEAR SEXY IN PUBLIC AND IN PICTURES!

By the way, to be beautiful is not wrong for a woman; but to dress and appear SEXY in public or in pictures is a BIG WRONG AND SIN. Unfortunately, many women today, especially young girls and women, are "presenting themselves to sin as instruments of unrighteousness" in public by the way they dress (Romans 6:13)! 

• Stop offering the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have been brought from death to life and the parts of your body as instruments of righteousness to God.  (Rom 6:13 ISV)

Without realizing it, they became immodest, making themselves major players in this SINFUL AND ADULTEROUS GENERATION (Mark 8:38). For God, they appear very UGLY, even an ABOMINATION! God will punish them severely if they will not repent and change their corrupt mindsets and manners!

OBEY GOD'S COMMANDMENTS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE: BOTH THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS! 

• My son, KEEP YOUR FATHER'S COMMANDMENTS, and DO NOT FORSAKE THE LAW (The BIBLE) of your Mother; (Pro 6:20 MKJV)

• ...to keep you from the immoral woman, from the flattery of the wayward wife's tongue. (Pro 6:23-24 HNV)
  

• DON'T LUST AFTER HER BEAUTY in your heart, NEITHER LET HER CAPTIVATE YOU WITH HER EYELIDS. (Pro 6:25 HNV)

FEAR AND GLORIFY THE CREATOR! DON'T LUST AFTER HIS CREATION!

In the event when you cannot control your eyes, and you are already into it, you must use the last weapon to overcome lust: THINK OF THE SEXY BODY AS GOD'S BEAUTIFUL CREATION! That sexy woman or man does not own their bodies! The Great Creator God is the real owner of all human bodies, including your very own body (1Corinthians 6:19-20)! 

• Flee sexual immorality!...don't you know that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN,  (1Co 6:19 HNV)

for you were bought with a price. Therefore, GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY and IN YOUR SPIRIT, which are God's.  (1Co 6:20 HNV)

Therefore, don't lust after those beautiful sexy bodies! Be captivated by the Creator, not the creation! You can admire the beauty of the creation, but you must FEAR AND GLORIFY THE CREATOR!  

Instead of looking at the prohibited sexy women (except your wife), feast your eyes and fill your minds with the beauty of God's Creation (the sceneries of mountains, oceans, seas, the sky, the heavens, etc.) that inspires and gives you deep and high reverence to the greatness of the Creator God!

AVOID THE EVIL EYE. MAKE A COVENANT WITH YOUR EYES NOT TO LOOK WITH LUST TO SEXY WOMEN.

• If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehinnom.  (Mat 5:29 HNV)

Job already knew the principle mentioned by Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:28-29. Job strictly followed Christ's advise, even making a covenant with his eyes not to look at a woman lustfully. A covenant is of a sacred and binding nature.

• I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman?  (Job 31:1 HNV)

Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible says: I made a covenant with my eyes, that is, "I watched against the occasions of the sin; why then should I think upon a maid?" that is, "by that means, through the grace of God, I kept myself from the very first step towards it." So far was he from wanton dalliances, or any act of lasciviousness, that, 

(1.) He would not so much as admit a wanton look. He made a covenant with his eyes, made this bargain with them, that he would allow them the pleasure of beholding the light of the sun and the glory of God shining in the visible creation, provided they would never fasten upon any object that might occasion any impure imaginations, much less any impure desires, in his mind; and under this penalty, that, if they did, they must smart for it in penitential tears. 

Note: Those that would keep their hearts pure must guard their eyes, which are both the outlets and inlets of uncleanness. Hence we read of wanton eyes (Isa_3:16) and eyes full of adultery, 2Pe_2:14. The first sin began in the eye, Gen_3:6. What we must not meddle with we must not lust after; and what we must not lust after we must not look at... not the forbidden woman, Mat_5:28. 

(2.) He would not so much as allow a wanton thought: "Why then should I think upon a maid with any unchaste fancy or desire towards her?" Shame and sense of honour might restrain him from soliciting the chastity of a beautiful virgin, but only grace and the fear of God would restrain him from so much as thinking of it. Those are not chaste that are not so in spirit as well as body, 1Co_7:34. See how Christ's exposition of the seventh commandment agrees with the ancient sense of it, and how much better Job understood it than the Pharisees, though they sat in Moses's chair. -- HENRY

Albert Barnes' Notes on the Bible says: Why then should I think upon a maid - Upon a virgin; compare Pro_6:25, "Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids;" see, also, the fearful and solemn declaration of the Saviour in Mat_5:28. 

There is much emphasis in the expression used here by Job. He does not merely say that he had not thought in that manner, but that the thing was morally impossible that he should have done it. Any charge of that kind, or any suspicion of it, he would repel with indignation. His purpose to lead a pure life, and to keep a pure heart, had been so settled, that it was impossible that he could have offended in that respect.  

His purpose, also, not to think on this subject, showed the extent of the restriction imposed on himself. It was not merely his intention to lead a chaste life, and to avoid open sin, but it was to maintain a pure heart, and not to suffer the mind to become corrupted by dwelling on impure images, or indulging in unholy desires. This strongly shows Job's piety and purity of heart, and is a beautiful illustration of patriarchal religion. We may remark here, that if a man wishes to maintain purity of life, he must make just such a covenant as this with himself - one so sacred, so solemn, so firm, that he will not suffer his mind for a moment to harbor an improper thought. 

"The very passage of an impure thought through the mind leaves pollution behind it;" and the outbreaking crimes of life are just the result of allowing the imagination to dwell on impure images.

As the eye is the great source of danger (compare Mat_5:28; 2Pe_2:14), there should be a solemn purpose that that should be pure, and that any sacrifice should be made rather than allow indulgence to a wanton gaze: compare Mar_9:47. No man was ever too much guarded on this subject; no one ever yet made too solemn a covenant with his eyes, and with his whole soul to be chaste. -- BARNES
